Advancement
Boards of Review (BOR)
Upon completion of all advancement requirements for each rank, the scout needs to arrange a Scoutmasters Conference. Once that has occured the Scout then needs to advise the Advancement Chairperson (Mrs. Coverdill) that he is ready for a BOR. The AC will solicit the required adults and schedule a BOR within 30 days of the Scout requesting the BOR. Once the Scout has successfully passed the BOR they are officially that rank even though they have not been awarded the rank at a Court of Honor

Blue Cards
All merit badges have a three part blue card. This card may be issued by someone in the troop, summer camp, or some other pre-approved advisor. If the badge is being earned within the troop and it is completed, the scout will receive the merit badge and one of the parts of the blue card. If the badge is earned outside of the troop then 2 parts need to be turned into the Advancement Chair. Then at a COH the badge and one part of the blue card will be returned to the scout. If there is ever a partial ( in other words the badge was not completed) all 3 parts of the blue card will be returned to the scout. It will be 100% the scout's responsibility to keep these cards. Nobody else will have a record of how much was completed or anything else about the particular merit badge. Once a merit badge has been started you have 1 year to complete it. If not completed the scout will have to start over from the beginning.

C.A.M.P. (Camp Award Money Program)
The C.A.M.P. program will be utilized to encourage each scout to be both an active and uniformed member of Troop 109.

The program will enable each scout to earn money for his camp fund. The way to earn this money is by doing three items on a regular basis. The basis of the award will be via a point system.

The point system is as follows :

Attending meeting                                                1 point

Wearing the class "A" uniform shirt               1 point

Having his scout handbook                                1 point

There will also be surprise full uniform inspections. On those unannounced meetings a full and correct uniform will gain the scout an extra 2 points.

Scouts will have two tries to gain these awards, as there will be two award nights January 27th and June 2nd. The points will be accumulated and the winners will be announced. It could be possible to gain a total $20.00 as an individual award during a period of 10 months.

The awards will be transferred to the scout's individual camp fund. There will be three levels of awards. In the case of any ties it will be settled by an individual performance of a scouting skill.

First Place            $10.00

Second Place            $ 8.00

Third Place            $ 5.00

Money can be applied to the camp fund via any other fund raising activity. The camp fund money can be used by the scout for any scouting event that requires a fee. The troop treasurer is the maintainer of the camp fund records and is audited by the troop committee.
